Fiber and minerals targets:
- NDF target range: 18% to 35%
- Ca target range: 0.50% to 1.00%

4) Warning color logic
Minimum-threshold nutrients (CP, TDN, NEg):
- Green: Actual >= target
- Yellow: Actual >= 95% of target but below target
- Red: Actual < 95% of target
Range-threshold nutrients (NDF, Ca, P, Ca:P):
- Green: inside range
- Yellow: slightly outside range (15% range buffer)
- Red: outside yellow buffer
DMI status:
- Green: actual/required in 0.95 to 1.15
- Yellow: actual/required in 0.85 to 1.30
- Red: outside that band
Overall pass message logic:
- Requires strong energy/protein status and no critical mineral/fiber failures.

Quick worked example
Assume a pen ration has:
- 24 lb/day as-fed total
- 70% average DM across the ration
- CP weighted at 13.2%
- Cost/head/day at $3.85
Then:
- DMI = 24 x 0.70 = 16.8 lb/day
- CP lb/day = 16.8 x 0.132 = 2.22 lb/day
- If days on feed = 150, projected feed cost = 3.85 x 150 = $577.50 per head
